Beautification Update

Dear Neighbors!

We will soon complete the frontage and greenbelt trails and are moving to the main entrance/exit area. This is a beautification project and we will be doing a thorough clean up of this area and a wood chip application. This area has needed attention and we have worked with our landscaper to come up with a cost effective, maintenance friendly solution.

The Woodchips serve as an affordable aesthetic ground cover option for a very large area. Woodchips stop weeds and grasses from taking over and cover up rocky soil. We are using the same Tree service companies that supply Chambers Bay and the Point Defiance Zoo for their woodchip application needs. We look forward to the project completion and appreciate everyones patience while the work is in progress

Woodchips!

Your Woodlake board and special thanks to Aaron Cavelti have been hard at work arranging our regular landscaping for Woodlake.  If you are having any trees taken down this year and need a place for wood chips to go, please let us know (hoa@woodlakeneighbors.com) and we’ll let you know where to dump clean chips.  Also don’t forget about extra University Place yard waste pickups that happen in the spring.  Check the UP Refuse site for more information as it comes.

Christmas Tree Lighting

Hello everyone,

The Christmas tree lighting will be this Tuesday December 4th at 7pm!  Santa will be coming on the fire truck in the usual place over next to the pond. We will have cookies to decorate, coffee, cocoa and cider.  Residents are welcome to bring food, new toys, and or cash donations for the Firefighters Christmas project and local food banks.

Storm Drains

Hello Neighbors,

Please work together to keep storm drains clear of leaves and needles as much as possible. Also, oversized brush cleanup is available; U.P. Refuse will pick up as they do every fall. Piles can be left next to your yard waste for pick up. Additional details can be found on the U.P. Refuse website.

Halloween Celebration

Hello everyone,

Remember that porch lights that are on indicate that trick or treaters are welcome!  Lights off means please do not disturb.  However, please remember how fun it is for the kids to trick or treat and participate if you can!  If you’re planning to go out with your kids, make sure you’ve got well lit gear on or in hands.  Flash lights and glow sticks will work well.  6pm to 8pm are the intended trick or treat times, this will give plenty of time for an early dinner and also courteous for noise such for it to end at 8pm.

Keep safe, watch for coyotes

Hello everyone, hope you’re enjoying the great weather out there.  Just wanted to post a quick update that Pat Fornier has reported a sighting of a coyote over on the east side of our neighborhood on the gun range side.  Please be careful with your children and your pets if you’re over there.
